2PP051 – 3 March 2011

After Special Days, we talk about the Supreme Court ruling on the case about the Phelps family religious cult. Arthur points out that many democracies place reasonable restrictions on speech, hate speech in particular. Picketing funerals is wrong, no matter who’s doing it and some way ought to be found to stop it.

Then we go on to the attempts of the Republican/teabaggers to bust unions in Wisconsin and Ohio. This leads to a wider discussion of the antics of the right, teabaggers in particular. Even the Madman of Libya gets a quick look. During our wrap-up chat, we also talk a little about the recent earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand.
