2PP054 – 5 May 2011

We begin with a reference to something not on the website, then on to Special Days. After that, it’s the big story, the death of bin Laden. We talk about how we found out and what our reactions were. We’re critical of the right and the left: The right was unable to give any credit to the president, and said some really bad, things, too. But we also don’t see eye-to-eye with the left on this.

We also talk about some of what we experienced in September 2001. And how that compares to now. But this also means now that bib Laden isn’t the face of the Arab world any more—the young people causing regime change and demanding democracy are, and that’s a good thing.

  1. Roger Green says:

Hey, Arthur – listen to this program at about 27:50 where you talk about the “antithesis to Obama” when you meant “Osama”. http://blog.timesunion.com/rogergreen/obamaosama-whatever/1937/

Jason’s tale about the post 9/11 plane reminded me of the first plane I heard fly over our house on the way to the Albany (NY) airport after 9/11; startled the heck out of me. Didn’t realize how quiet the skies had gotten.
