Arthur starts off today talking about why there was such a gap in episodes—including Arthur’s marriage—only to have this one delayed by his work schedule. Irony! We then talk a bit about the weather system that was bearing down on DC at the time we recorded. Then, we talk about Thanksgiving. That led us to talking about Tina Turner. Of course.
Talk about expat stuff leads to a talk about marriage equality and Jason’s unique way of quantifying what it means politically. The reality is, marriage equality is the USA’s permanent reality: There aren’t enough states that would ratify a constitutional amendment to ban marriage equality, so even if the impossible happened and an amendment got through Congress, it would be dead in the water. We talk about why the anti-gay industry still keeps pushing a lost cause.
We move on to some talk about the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Many thoughts on the actual history, conspiracy theories and our own memories. We end on a mention of the lizard people guarding President Obama.
We skipped comments because, well, the whole schedule is really messed up! Still, everyone’s welcome to leave a comment (agree or disagree!).
